A relaxed slice of life, I wouldn't minds a third season.
The slimes holding drinks to toast with everyone else was cute.

Sahiba KT • 1 year ago

I want the slice of life to move to actual slice of life and not all this shop and business stuff... It's turned into a business anime!

Itinerate • 1 year ago

Even for a slice of life anime this is so boring it's almost obscene. S1 was an OP Character exploring an Isekai world meeting influential people are attracting a VERY understated 'Mini-Harem' in the background, that also had a reliably calm and relaxing 'Slice of Life' tone to it.
This Season put the Tone first, relationships 2nd whilst exiling every vaguely interesting or meaningful character and story WAY BACK in 3rd place... It's practically an afterschool kids cartoon aimed at the under 8 crowd at this point. Postman Pat & Thomas the Tank Engine were a pair of hellions compared to this season's Ryoma.
Ryoma running a couple of small Laundry Houses, tinkering with a Music Box and writing Letters is not enough content to support a 12 episode season.

I was honestly looking for an honest review on how the anime was so thanks. I got a long backlog of anime to catch up and honestly if season 2 doesn't have much content/progression in story at all then I'll just try and remember what season 1 was about and move on

Apex • 9 months ago

Slice of life means its about every day things. Running his business is exactly that. If you want to see more fighting, find those genres then. Honestly no one cares if you hate it. Not every anime pleases every crowd.

Itinerate • 9 months ago

You've gotta learn how to deal with people having different opinions. That sort of thinking is becoming an epidemic. Someone criticising something you like shouldn't make you feel personally attacked. You aren't the things you like. It's not healthy or sensible to go about living that way.

Jakk Frost • 1 year ago

It's a slice of HIS life, therefore it IS an "actual" slice of life.

Itinerate • 1 year ago

So then I guess Aliens is also a slice of life because it's just a slice of RIpley's day to day life aboard the Nostromo.

Jakk Frost • 1 year ago

That is the epitome of a false equivalency.

Good try though.

Itinerate • 1 year ago

Either you're a genuinely gifted Troll or comically wrong and deluded like a character from The Office. I'm hoping the former even if that does mean I got trolled.

Jakk Frost • 11 months ago

Slice of life means each episode covers a different story occuring in one character's life on a daily basis. Some events are mundane, some are notable. And there's rarely a series spanning, overarching story.

Alien is a single episode, not a whole series, and it would only be slice of life if we saw other days of her life with unrelated events at the foreground.

TripleK • 10 months ago

i am with @Itinerate in this one..
was looking so forward to this but damn it was so ridiculously boring to watch
most slice of life try to go the comedic route or drama
this one really had nothing to it..

I hope if there is a thrid season they will fix that and focus more on the adventuring type and his relationship with his first love instead of him showing everyone new dishes and items from his previous world..

Jakk Frost • 10 months ago

I wasn't arguing its quality, merely its genre. I also agree that this season kind of fell flat.

One of the best slice of life animes is Gintama, but people refuse to believe me when I tell them it falls about 95% in that genre.

Yea and at 15:07 the woman moved funny too, like stretched in a paint then moved back to correct position

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

Lol Carla constantly after Ryouma to take a break, the guy is too much of a workaholic.

I was glad this got a second season since I came to really like the first season but I have to admit it has been disappointing as a whole. It wasn't as heartwarming and chill, I found it to be quite bland in comparison. Maybe because there was less of an objective compared to the first season where there were lots of discoveries, connections and bonds to be made. If this got a third season, I am not sure I would watch it.

xXPORTALXx • 1 year ago

It was very bland, like how the entire festival was basically reduced to afew empty panning shots lol

wwlaos • 1 year ago

I'd do anything Carla told me to. ♥

braveboar • 1 year ago

I really did enjoy seeing the way both Carla and Calum mothered him at times and made sure he looked after himself. Carla was certainly more firm in doing so tho. That look of I swear if this boy doesn't relax soon I'm gunna...XD

Now Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko 2nd Season (Grace by the Gods 2nd Saeson) has ended.
Source:LN
Gerenes: Fantasy, isekai, Slice of Life.
Studio: Maho Film.
(Manily known for other isekai/fantasy anime like 100-man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru
(I'm Standing on a Million Lives), Uchi no Ko no Tame naraba, Ore wa Moshikashitara Maou mo Taoseru kamo Shirenai. (If It's for My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord) (Which is a great kawaii isekai ^//^), also this CGDGCT SoL Yaku nara Mug Cup mo (Let's Make a Mug Too).

Personal thoughts:
This a good light hearted comfy sequal isekai this season but it's a double-edge sword since it was too comfy and more to a point it was too relax of an isekai this season with too much SoL that made this a bit more boring and makes one sleepy.

S1 was relaxing but had a good build up with the right balance of action while S2 did bring new abundant of characters for good story but not enough action.

The animation and visuals are the same in all with comfy OP & ED with soothing soundtracks.

But that's mostly that. and for being a little dull to me than S1 I'll give it a 7/10

Janbert Berdin • 1 year ago

same thought boooorrrrriiiinnnnggg

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Yeah, cause S1 had a good balance. S2 doesn't.

So, the season comes to an end with a nice festival episode – which of course was a great success. And even during a festival Ryoma managed to help a lost kid find his mom. I liked how he recollected past events during the walk with Theo. It was also nice to see Ryoma perform with the Semroid Troupe. And the ending was really nice. This really was a nice episode to conclude the season.

The 2nd season continues to follow Ryoma’s life, and it once again delivered some nice time to relax with him, the slimes, and other people in the world (Miya best girl/cat). Though I didn’t like it as much as the 1st season. It seemed to me a bit too slow at some points. I also missed Eliaria, who was now only a pen-pal to Ryoma, and I wasn’t a big fan of that. She, and the whole Jamil Household, was one of the factors that made me like the 1st season. And that may also be why I really liked the episode regarding Eliaria’s school life. It was one of my favorites of this season.

On the positive side – it was nice to see some new slime additions to Ryoma’s collection. Like the Deodorant Slime, or the Flying Slime. We also met some new characters. Overall, the story kept its laidback, wholesome atmosphere – meaning you could just sit back and slow down. And that’s basically the idea behind this anime – to enjoy your life. Even the gods want Ryoma to just have a good and enjoyable life in the isekai.

So yeah, even though I liked season 1 more, it was nice to see Ryoma again. It is also really nice to see a world where people are all nice to each other (that is also one of the factors I like this anime). In the end I can rate this season – 7/10.

Going miss the 2020 feels with this one

TripleK • 10 months ago

7/10 is too high for me tbh
it was WAY TOO bland
no parts where you could laugh or feel happy for someone because of multiple reasons

4/10 for me.. maybe even 3
most of the conversations were skipable and not interesting at all
the fights were friggin lame and many animations were used multiple times (which i get with low budget but still)
the biggest issue with this season was, that there was no hardships whatsoever
nothing to overcome, nothing to be joyful about.. just watching someone work

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

Handyman Saitou, I didn't think I was gonna enjoy as much as I had.

Turns out it became my favorite isekai this season.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

It's number 4 in my tops list.

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

Yeah, I actually rearranged my Best list.

Had to rethink it over. Still on the best list.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

My 1st list is really specific. I got a best sequel list and all a around list of the this seasonal list coming up.

I'll be honest : I lost the motivation to keep watching that one... Not because it was bad, I guess it was just... Not enough for me ?

Velociraptor • 1 year ago

Tsukasa pfp, NICE 👍👍

Also loved the Megumin pfp. But then you and MeguminExplosion would be matching. So I see why you changed it

P.S: You two would've been the cutest couple ever I swear 🤣🤣

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

That we could've been, you're right. XD

I even have my PFP for the summer ready to go.

Grace of the Gods returns for its 2nd season by Maho Film, the studio behind Land of Leadale, Million Lives, the villainess isekai Rie Takahashi starred in, and Uchi no ko no.

Maho's track record, especially with isekai hasn't been great. This is their best isekai by defualt, but they ALSO made Million Lives, so not exactly a high hurdle. S1 I thought was OK, but looking back, seeing as both S1 of GOTG and Million Lives S1 both aired during the Fall 2020 season, and other meh isekai dropped that year like Hamefura and the 8th Son, I found myself to be more forgiving and enjoying this more than I thought. So how does S2 fare?

Ryoma's VA Azusa Tadokoro and MindaRyn both return to sing the show's OP and ED. Whereas Tadokoro sung the S1 OP and MindaRyn the S1 ED, MindaRyn sings the S2 OP while Tadokoro sings the S2 ED. S2 OP is fun to listen to and the ED is fine. Plot wise not much going on similar to last season. I can't say much on character design considering it's bland, heck, character design's the same in Leadale, Uchi no ko no, and S1 of Million Lives. Let's ignore the CGI horses.

Overall, S2 wasn't bad, and like S1, it's inoffensive to watch, but I DO think you can get your money's worth elsewhere if you want a chill time worth your dollar. If you enjoyed this I recommend Campfire Cooking in Another World!
Final Verdict: 7/10

Watchforever • 1 year ago

Kinda a 6/10 honestly

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

I agree with that but I'd stay the same with Noah on my rating cause this was not terrible at all, just dull.

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

Plus the charm S1 had is gone here.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

True.

Kyle scott • 1 year ago

maybe the lack of the display shown in s1 where he is overpowered caused that. i think they should have at least added something.

JDC • 1 year ago

duh its like a drug. the first time always hits the strongest. dopamine receptors built a tolerance to the same stuff. Which is why most people just look for new different anime vs sticking with ultra long dragged out series.

to me though, its the same vibe and feels as the first season done right in almost every way. Just doesnt have the initial wow factor on its side.

Watchforever • 1 year ago

Giving it a 7/10 just feels weird
